Man Charged With Battery for Farting Near Cop
SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. - A man has been charged with battery on a police officer for allegedly passing gas and fanning it toward a patrolman.
Jose A. Cruz, 34, of Clarksburg, W. Va., was pulled over early Tuesday for driving without headlights, police said. According to the criminal complaint, Cruz smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and failed three field sobriety tests before he was handcuffed and taken to a police station for a breathalyzer test.
As Patrolman T.E. Parsons prepared the machine, Cruz scooted his chair toward Parsons, lifted his leg and "passed gas loudly," the complaint said.
Cruz, according to complaint, then fanned the gas toward the officer.
"The gas was very odorous and created contact of an insulting or provoking nature with Patrolman Parsons," the complaint alleged.
He was also charged with driving under the influence, driving without headlights and two counts of obstruction.
'I couldn't hold it no more' Cruz acknowledged passing gas, but said he didn't move his chair toward the officer nor aim gas at the patrolman. He said he had an upset stomach at the time, but police denied his request to go to the bathroom when he first arrived at the station.

DNA Test to Confirm Which Dog Pooped!
ROME - Dog excrement used to be merely a nuisance to pedestrians, now it could be used as evidence against pet owners and may lead to fines.
A town in northern Italy plans to create a DNA database of all registered dogs and then test droppings left on pavements and in parks to identify the culprit and fine owners who fail to clean up after their pets, La Stampa daily reported Tuesday.
"If signs and invitations aren't enough, we'll try genetics. I want a clean city," Antonio Prencipe, councilor in charge of the environment in Vercelli, a town of some 45,000 inhabitants near Turin, told the paper.
DNA tests would cost around 13 euros ($19), which would be more than covered by fines, La Stampa said. It did not estimate the cost of creating a database.
The Israeli town of Petah Tikva launched a similar six-month trial program earlier this month, under which dog owners were asked to take their animals to a municipal veterinarian, who then swabs its mouth and collects DNA.

World's Largest Augmented Breasts
Maxi Mounds’s 36MM bust was accepted by Guinness World Records in a new World's Largest Augmented Breasts category, after years of lobbying by the entertainer.
Each of her breasts weighs 20 pounds – and they are still growing, thanks to the controversial "polypropylene string" treatment that created them.
Unimpressed by the results of standard silicone implants, Ms Mounds had plastic string inserted into her breasts in 2000.
The implant irritates the breast, causing the release of body fluids that inflate the area still further.
The procedure – which was only really popular among adult entertainers and sex workers – has since been banned in Britain and the United States due to concerns about its safety.
Ms Mounds, who became a lap dancer in Florida in the 1990s and has since starred in several pornographic films, says she is used to her absurd proportions causing a stir.
"I’ve seen some pretty funny things happen. Men walking into things and getting slapped by their girlfriends because they were staring too hard."
Ms Mounds, who lives in New York, says she approached the Guinness World Records after spotting a record for natural breast size. They initially turned her away, but a few years later got in contact.
"Then they asked me if I was interested as they were creating a category. Eventually they told me I won."
The official measuring taken in Florida in 2005 gave her a chest-over-nipple size of 60.5 in.

Woman on Respirator Dies After Power Company Cuts Electricity
A 44-year-old woman connected to an oxygen machine at her home died when the power company cut her electricity because she failed to pay her bill, health24.com reported Tuesday.
A coroner’s report released Tuesday attributed the New Zealand woman’s death to the cessation of her oxygen machine and the related stress.
Folole Muliaga, who lived in Mangere, a suburb of Auckland, failed to pay her $168.40 electricity bill in May 2007, Meridian Energy claimed.
Muliaga leaves behind four children and a husband, who plans to pursue legal action.
A family lawyer said that while she was pleased that Mercury Energy had improved its procedures for unwell and vulnerable customers, it had a legal obligation to do so before Muliaga's death.
The coroner said the energy company should have had more regard for the family’s welfare, especially after the husband told them his wife, who was the family’s breadwinner, was sick.
